The boys from Florence came to represent!! (read about them below - the second six-cylinder race)
In the 8-Cylinder SuperStock Division:
The #03 car, driven by Mic Kaltwangs led almost every lap to take home the win. He and second place finisher Gene Hammonds battled side-by-side for a few laps and traded places a couple of times to make this one exciting. Honorable mentions go out to 2nd place Gene Hammonds in the #01 car and to
#6 owned and operated by Jerry Melton (Cowboy) who finished 3rd.
In the first of two 6-Cylinder SuperStock Division races:
The #06 car, driven by Gene Hammonds led every lap of this event to take home the trophy. Honorable mentions go to #11 owned and operated by Bo Hammonds,#321 driven by Floyd Gunn (Shakey), #05 driven by Jamie Varnador, and #17 driven by Robert Ralls.
In the second of two 6-Cylinder SuperStock Division races:
The florence boys came to represent!!! Not too bad for asphalt boys...
The #17 car, driven by Toby Milligan started almost dead last but worked his way through the pack to take home the trophy. Honorable mentions go to #24 driven by Ernie Chappell, #11 driven by Leon Vinson, #06 driven by Dale Price, and #0 driven by Brent Bullard. #3 owned and operated by Jodi Haynes tried to run with the boys but.....she learned that those cars don't just run on faith......put some more gas in it next time! (this is what she gets for calling me "Fat Cheeks").
