Woody is from Sumter SC. He races Late Models at  his home track of Florence Motor Speedway and Myrtle Beach Speedway. He began racing in 1995 in a street stock at Sumter Speedway.  His car is named  "PURPLE PASSION"

Woody had a old car out back, and his friends thought it would be fun to go out to the dirt track. Woody got his first win at Sumter his rookie year.

In 1997 he won the NASCAR points Championship at Florence motor speedway.  He also won the Hard Charger award.

in 2001 he won 5 races at FMS and finished 2nd in the points.

Competition is the thrill of racing for Woody. He considers his first win at Sumter his rookie year his greatest racing moment.
